I can’t tell you how nervous, anxious, slightly upset she was this past week when she got sick in our build up to the race. It was driving her crazy not to be doing anything, but her body told her to stop no matter what she did. She was feeling really good this morning. I think if she gets top 10 she’ll be happy, but anything better of course is always awesome

Yes it was a tough year for her. She never really opened up to me about how much stuff she has going on outside of training until a few months ago. I think she was afraid of losing a lot fitness. But I told her that’s my job to get your fitness on less volume. It was a little late to the game but I think she’s more fit then she realizes and I’m thinking top 10 is very doable!

She had an incredibly busy and stressful year of teaching this past year. Lots of changes at school which made it challenging for everyone who worked there. Beyond teaching she’s been training horses and that has picked up (more people want/need her help), and then her dad passed away barely a month ago. Completing this race today will be a huge milestone for her. She’s had today floating out there in the distance for some time.

Haha…I’m watching her finish. However, 9:30p ET is way past my bed time 😂. So I’ll check in tomorrow AM. 5th should be good for Kona qualifying with a little room. I hope you saved some money up 😉

Sounds good. She’s in the home stretch now, headed back into town. We’re 50yds from finish and will be able to see her come down the street and thru the chute

Darn! I always forget about that staggering of people starting. Usually you don’t get a late arrival like that in top 10. Liz should be proud with 6th though! Make sure you get some pics on the podium if she gets a Kona spot.
